ভূস্বর্গ কাশ্মীর

পাহাড় চূড়া, দীঘল উপত্যকা ও এক পশলা হৃদের প্রাণবন্ত ঐকতানের অন্য নাম কাশ্মীর। তুষারাবৃত চূড়া এবং ব্যস্ত-সমস্ত তৃণভূমির অবারিত মোহনীয়তায় নিমেষেই খুঁজে পাওয়া যায় ভূস্বর্গ নামটির মানে। সমৃদ্ধ সংস্কৃতি ও উষ্ণ আতিথেয়তা যে কোনো পরিব্রাজককে আপন করে নিতে যথেষ্ট। ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের সবচেয়ে উত্তরে অবস্থিত বিশ্ব জোড়া পর্যটকদের এই প্রিয় গন্তব্য কাশ্মীর I

শ্রীনগর

কাশ্মীরের প্রবেশদ্বার শ্রীনগরেই মিলবে অপার্থিব অনুভূতির সঞ্চার করা ডাল লেকের স্নিগ্ধতা। এ ছাড়া এই লেকে রয়েছে এশিয়ার প্রথম ভাসমান সিনেমা হল। শঙ্করাচার্য মন্দিরের চূড়া থেকে জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরের এই রাজধানী শহরটির প্রায় পুরোটা চোখে পড়ে।

কাশ্মীর ভ্যালি

কারাকোরাম এবং পীর পাঞ্জাল রেঞ্জ পরিবেষ্টিত এই উপত্যকাটি দেখতে একদম ডিমের মতো। হিমালয়ের এই বৃহত্তম উপত্যকার সেরা আকর্ষণ হচ্ছে এখানকার ১৩০ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ ট্রেকিং পথ। পাহাড়ের ওপর অদ্ভূত সমতল রাস্তা রোমাঞ্চকর বাইকিংয়ের জন্যও বেশ জনপ্রিয়।

প্যাহেলগাম

একদিকে ভীতি সঞ্চার করা গভীর উপত্যকাগুলোর আশ্রয়স্থল বেতাব উপত্যকা। অন্যদিকে হাজার বছরের স্রোত বুকে নিয়ে চির নবীন লিডার হ্রদ। এদের মাঝে পাহালগাম যেন বুনো ও আদিম প্রকৃতির এক স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত উপাখ্যান। এরই মধ্যে লিডার হ্রদে রোমাঞ্চকর রাফটিংয়ের হাতছানি উপেক্ষা করা দুষ্কর। শহরের বিপণীগুলোর জগৎজোড়া খ্যাতি জানা না থাকলেও, ঐতিহ্যবাহী কাশ্মীরি সামগ্রীগুলো একবার হলেও ছুঁয়ে দেখার ইচ্ছে করবে।

সোনামার্গ

শ্রীনগর থেকে ৮০ কিলোমিটার উত্তর-পূর্বে অপরূপ উপত্যকা ও ঝরনার এক নৈসর্গিক সংমিশ্রণ এই সোনামার্গ। এখানকার বরফের নদী থাজিয়ান হিমবাহ আর সিন্ধু নদী দেখার সময় চোখের পলক ফেলারই অবকাশ মিলবে না। আর এই বিস্ময়কে সঙ্গ দিতে এখানে রয়েছে স্লেজিং, স্নো বাইক এবং ঘোড়ায় চড়ে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর সুযোগ।

গুলমার্গ

সবুজ ঘাসে আচ্ছাদিত গুলমার্গ সারা বছরই বরফে ঢাকা থাকে। শ্রীনগর থেকে ৪৯ কিলোমিটার দূরের এই দর্শনীয় স্থানে পাওয়া যাবে গন্ডোলার ক্যাবল কার রাইডিং ও প্যারাগ্লাইডিংয়ের মজা। ভারতের শীতকালীন ক্রীড়াযজ্ঞের কেন্দ্রস্থল হিসেবে পরিচিত এই পাহাড়ি অঞ্চলটি এশিয়ার অন্যতম সেরা স্কিয়িং স্পট।

তাছাড়া দেখার মতো আরও আছে বাবা রেশির মাজার, খিলানমার্গ, গলফ কোর্স, সেন্ট ম্যারি চার্চ, এলপাথর লেক, বায়োস্ফিয়ার রিজার্ভ, এবং আফারওয়াত পিক।

কাশ্মীর ভ্রমণের সেরা সময়

প্রকৃতির অনিন্দ্য রূপ লাবণ্য উপভোগের জন্য সারা বছরই ভ্রমণপিপাসুদের ভীড় থাকে কাশ্মীরে। যারা বরফের জগতে ডুবে যেতে চান, তারা বেছে নিতে পারেন ডিসেম্বর থেকে ফেব্রুয়ারি মাস। ভাগ্য ভালো হলে স্নোফলে ভেজার অভিজ্ঞতাও মিলে যেতে পারে।

ফুলেল এবং সবুজ কাশ্মীর দেখার জন্য উপযুক্ত সময় হলো এপ্রিল থেকে মে মাস।

A Trip to  Kashmir

Sonamarg (translation: "Meadow of Gold") is a hill station in Ganderbal district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Sonamarg gives rise to The Three Sisters (Kashmir). In its vicinity lies the great Himalayan glaciers of Kashmir Valley namely Kolhoi Glacier and Machoi Glacier with some peaks of above 5000 meters: Sirbal Peak, Kolhoi Peak, Amarnath Peak and Machoi Peak. Sonamarg an alpine valley is situated at the bank of Nallah Sindh, 87 km north-east from Srinagar, it is a popular tourist destination, nestled with in the imposing Himalayan peaks.

 It lies at an altitude of 2800 metres above sea level. The drive to Sonamarg is through yet another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir, this time it is the Nallah Sindh, the largest tributary of the Jehlum River in the valley of Kashmir. It is upwards of sixty miles long valley and deep rock-girt gorge to open grassy meadow land and village-dotted slopes.

Gulmarg (translation: "Meadow of Flowers") is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in Baramula district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.The town is within the Himalayas and is within miles of the Line of Control between India and Pakistan.

Pahalgam is a town and a notified area committee in Anantnag district of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination, and every year, many tourists visit Pahalgam. This world famous hill station is 45 km. from the District Headquarters at Anantnag and located on the banks of Lidder River at an altitude of 7200 ft. from sea level. Pahalgam is one among the five tehsils of Anantnag district and tehsil headquarters are located in the main town of Pahalgam. It was once a tourist attraction and a favourite place for shooting of Bollywood films, and is still a health resort. Besides tourist huts, several hotels in private sector have come up here and these hotels provide modern facilities to their guests. A number of treks in this region also begin from Pahalgam, as the 35 km trail traverses through pinewoods to the spectacular Kolahoi Glacier.

 Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2,895 m), 16 km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month of Sawan (July to August). The road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is on fairly flat terrain and can be undertaken by car. From Chandanwari onwards the track becomes much steeper, and is accessible on foot or by pony. About 11 km from Chandanwari is the mountain lake of Sheshnag (3,574 m), after which, 13 km away is the last stop, Panchtarni. The Amarnath cave is 6 km from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural Shivling in the Amarnath cave.

Dal Lake is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The urban lake, which is the second largest in the state, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel".The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting. The shore line of the lake, is about 15.5 kilometres (9.6 mi), is encompassed by a boulevard lined with Mughal era gardens, parks, houseboats and hotels. Scenic views of the lake can be witnessed from the shore line Mughal gardens, such as Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir[6] and from houseboats cruising along the lake in the colourful shikaras.[7] During the winter season, the temperature sometimes reaches −11 °C (12 °F), freezing the lake. The lake covers an area of 18 square kilometres (6.9 sq mi) and is part of a natural wetland which covers 21.1 square kilometres (8.1 sq mi), including its floating gardens. 

The floating gardens, known as "Rad" in Kashmiri, blossom with lotus flowers during July and August. The wetland is divided by causeways into four basins; Gagribal, Lokut Dal, Bod Dal and Nagin (although Nagin is also considered as an independent lake). Lokut-dal and Bod-dal each have an island in the centre, known as Rup Lank (or Char Chinari) and Sona Lank respectively. THE SHIKARA is a type of wooden boat found on Dal Lake and other water bodies of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Shikaras are of varied sizes and are used for multiple purposes, including transportation of people. A usual shikara seats half-a-dozen people, with the driver paddling at the rear. Like the Venetian gondolas, they are a cultural symbol of Kashmir. Some shikaras are still used for fishing, harvesting aquatic vegetation (usually for fodder), and transport, while most are covered with tarpaulins and are used by tourists. Some are used as floating homes by poor people.
